Naft Khana

Middle East region
  • Located near the border of Iraq, east of Baghdad, covering an area of 2,000 square kilometers.
  • Geo-Jade holds a 100% equity interest in the project.
  • The project is a historical producing oil field, with a historical peak production of 25,000 barrels per day. The block is an adjacent structure on the same tectonic belt as the Naft Shahr oil field. The original geological resources in the Naft Khana block exceed 4 billion barrels (P50), with a bid return rate of 14.67%. Huwaiza's original geological resources exceed 1.5 billion barrels (P50), with a bid return rate of 7.15%.
  • According to the Iraqi government, within the block, two oilfields and two gas fields have been discovered, with 12 identified structural closures, and the main hydrocarbon-bearing stratum's single-layer closure area extends to 381 square kilometers.
  • Relatively mature surface processing facilities, gas pipelines, and existing pipelines have been established within the contract area.
  • The production from old wells in the block can be rapidly restored to the historical level, and the reactivation of the project's old wells is expected to be completed and put into production in the short term.
  • As a large-scale natural gas development project, it can effectively alleviate the gas supply challenges for residents of Baghdad.
